The Angoulême International Comic Strip Festival was founded in 1974.
The four day Festival which offers quality exhibitions, exceptional encounters with the authors and special areas dedicated to publishers, is now known worldwide.

How to book?
To avoid queues at the ticket offices book direct through the EFFIA on 0820 20 68 28 (as from October) or send an e mail groupes-scolaires@bdangouleme.com

What is there to do?
Several exhibitions and shows for the younger public are programmed during the Festival. You can choose according to the age of your students!

 

At the « Pôle jeunesse » (youth area) special encounters are organised with the help of the Caisse d'Epargne (booking through the EFFIA - WARNING the programme for these encounters is only available a few weeks before the Festival), come and discover the comic strips of the « School Comic Strip Competition » winner, visit the special reading area where you can read albums for the younger public or watch cartoons.

 

The Young talents pavilion provides the opportunity to discover the work of an artist and find out what training is available.
And obviously everyone wants to find out more about mangas in the Manga Building.

How long does a visit take?
To see all the Festival has to offer you will need a whole day.

Lunch?
There are no special facilities for group lunches. However, certain schools in the town are willing to open to the public after 1.15pm (WARNING limited seating available, food not provided - send an e mail to groupes-scolaires@bdangouleme.com for bookings as from November)
